Are conservatism and democracy incompatible?  It’s hard to say; I may have been programmed by a conservative think tank.  A great read nonetheless.

I was both fascinated and terrified by this episode of Frontline.  It chronicles Brooksley Born, the head of the US Commodities Futures Trading Commission during the Clinton administration, and her attempt to regulate the dark world of derivative trading on Wall Street.
